The boost in the number of children in the park was put down to a combination of great summer weather and the involvement of both St Patrick’s Primary and Walcha Central Schools.
Traditional carols were mixed in with modern favourites and the Walcha Sing Australia group led the singing while Rotarian Barry Spry kept the corny Christmas jokes coming, even without the aid of a Christmas cracker.
A reading from the bible from Marta Barillaro reminded everyone of the true meaning of Christmas and a good time was had by all.
After leaving the park, many families took the opportunity to drive around the street’s of Walcha to spot the house with the best Christmas light display.
