The Walcha District Tennis Association, which was officially formed on April 30, 1937, conducted its first competition in May 1938 with 10 teams taking part, each comprised of four men and four women. The Woolbrook club put up two teams while each of the Apsley, Brackendale, Commercial, Dungate, Ingleba, Kingsley, Malvern and Moona clubs put up a team.
