Four time winner of the trophy, Chloe Mackaway asked club president Angus Warden if she could present the trophy, which she did, making an emotional speech while doing so.
During the season hundreds of personal best times were recorded and five swimmers received medallions for their record breaking efforts.
Chloe Mackaway broke an astounding seven open girls records; Chyna Smith broke two 16-years-and-under girls records; Jemma Warden broke two 10-years-and -under girls records; Stephanie Blake broke the 8-years -and-under girl 50 metre butterfly record and; Thomas Micallef broke three 14-years-and-under boys records.
Last month Flippers president Angus Warden won a gold medal at the NSW Masters Swimming Championships at Olympic Park Homebush. Competing in the men’s (45 to 49 years) 50 metre backstroke, Gus was first home in 32.86 seconds despite suffering back problems just prior to the race.
