Landmark Harcourts took top honours in the rural categories at the Harcourts International Annual Awards recently. In second place for top rural sales consultant in Australia was Bruce Rutherford of Landmark Boultons in Walcha.

The privately owned global real estate franchiser also named him as one of their top 100 real estate sales consultants in the world.

With a background in livestock and agency business, Bruce turned greater attention to real estate nine years ago, and his hard work has paid off with great success across a range of property types.

The awards were held at The Star on the Gold Coast on Wednesday, May 30. Mr Rutherford was unable to attend the event and only found out afterwards that he had won.

“I was very surprised and pleased,” he said.

“Although I am telling people that I am the number one rural sales consultant in mainland Australia – because Tasmania doesn’t really count. ”

Mr Rutherford was jokingly referring to the sales consultant who took home the top award. Landmark Harcourts Tasmania’s Smithton based agent, Tony Maguire, who was recognised as the top sales consultant within the group nationwide.

Mr Rutherford said of even greater surprise to him was to be ranked 99th in the world of all Harcourt sales consultants.

“The general category includes all real estate including commercial, so that is a pretty broad competitive base,” he said.

Landmark Harcourts General Manager, Mark Brooke, says the awards are representative of the dedication and hard work seen across the national network.

“We will continue our focus on delivering outstanding service and being the best regional and rural real estate business in Australia; this comes down to community focus and hard work,” he said.

In third place was Landmark Harcourts Tasmania’s lead sales consultant, John Hewitt who has been involved with the sale of some of the largest properties in Tasmania.

“Overall a fantastic result for Landmark Harcourts Tasmania, one they should be proud of,” says Mark Brooke.

In total, 13 Landmark Harcourts sales consultants finished within the national Top 100 sales agents, in a field of over 1,600 other agents nationally.
