Lynda Lynch, the coordinator of the program, said this year’s camp went to the next level.
“There were 28 girls, and it was the biggest camp to date,” she said.
“We had students from across the state that participated in the program sessions covering motivational and life skills. The students also participate in academic lectures as well as sports and fitness training.”
At the end of the camp, awards were given out for communication, leadership, mindfulness and respect. Elizabeth Pendlebury and Linda Roach both tied to receive the 'respect' award.
“The awards are based on the camp values,” said Ms Lynch.
“The ‘respect’ award was presented to the girls as they were courteous and respectful of other participants, facilitators and presenters.”
Ms Lynch said the most inspirational part of the camp was the women’s panel sharing their life stories and struggles balancing uni and home life.
“We embraced the NADIOC theme, because of her we can,” she said.
