The awards recognise individuals and groups who have made significant and sustained contributions to the education of students throughout the New England region.
Recipients were nominated by their peers and exemplify the best services of the teaching and learning profession.
This year the Australian Council for Educational Leaders and the Australian College of Educators will honour eight awardees in the annual gala event, and the recipients are:
William Walker Award for Outstanding Educational Leadership
Kristene Croft, deputy principal of Armidale High School.
Robyn Stewart, principal of Inverell Public School.
St Cath Duxbury Award for Emerging Educational Leader
Scott Breen, deputy principal of Duval High School.
Nikki Lee, assistant principal of Glen Innes Public School.
Cynthia Briggs Award for Empowerment through Education
Karayuna Learning Centre, Drummond Memorial Public School Armidale.
Oorala Youth Leadership Camp Program, OoralaCentre UNE.
Sutherland Award for Significant Contribution to Education
Carolyn Gadd, Sandon Public School, Armidale.
Belinda Burton, principal of St Patrick’s Catholic School, Walcha.
