New kids on the block Adele Laurie, Kelly Makeham, Harriet Monie and Rachel Green will be all rostered on a regular basis while Sally Munday is there as a back up when required.
When it came down to testing time on Saturday morning Jeff was impressed with the way the trainee attendants responded to different scenarios.
Along with covering the skills and knowledge of first aid, resuscitation, swimming and water safety the team also learnt about rescue and emergency response techniques, aquatic supervision, risk management, public relations, effective communication, conflict management and basic technical pool operations.
An attendants job requires a high degree of judgement, skill and fitness in both day-to-day duties and in dealing with an emergency situation.

Walcha Memorial Baths opened last Saturday for the 2018/19 season under less than ideal weather conditions but at least the water circulated at around 25 degrees celsius. A total of 90 people took up the offer of using the pool on Saturday and hopefully the weather will improve so more patrons can enjoy the facility.
