With immediate effect Level 3 Water Restrictions are now in place, which means you can water your garden with buckets or a brief hose burst in the early hours of the morning and evening.
“This means that we are back to level three just in time for the forecasted hot spell this weekend,” said Tess Dawson, Walcha Council senior manager – water, sewer and waste.
“For residents on the town water supply, the general watering of lawns and gardens is again permitted for 15 minutes per day with a hand-held hose or 2 hours per day with a bucket, between the hours of either 6am to 8am or 6pm to 8pm.”
Ms Dawson said the truck wash bay at the saleyards will also open again for the washing of heavy vehicles.
“Level three restrictions will remain in place until the Macdonald River stops again,” Ms Dawson said.
“While the River is flowing Council wants residents to have access to that water to help reduce the pressure of complying with Level 4 Restrictions.
“Formal notification of the being back to Level 3 will be advertised next week, but in the meantime, please spread the word with your neighbours and friends.
“And let’s hope we get some more of that glorious rain!”
Level 4 Water Restrictions have been lifted today, Friday 30/11/2018 effective immediately.
