Sacred Space by Dale Miles, Hairy Men by Matt Pilkington, Mother by Caz Haswell and Moonbeams by Nameer Davis and Barbara Penrose were all assigned to a specific location by their creators, and following ratification by Walcha Council in October, their installation is well underway.
Sculptor, Walcha Arts Council treasurer and one of the symposiums organisers James Rogers has been overseeing the work.
“They’re the best positions for them,” Mr Rogers said.
“Each artist chose them after cross referencing with the organising committee as well as the town engineer and town parks and gardens curator. We walked through the placement both before and after the symposium.”

Mr Rogers said the structural work is now completed.
“Now its details to do that’s all, tidy up, rake up the dirt, and give them another oil and wax as they’ve got a bit of installation grime on them that needs to come off.
“Nothing structural is needed now – just a bit of rehabilitation after the machines have been in there. It would be good to have a shower of rain too.”
The tidy up should be completed in the next fortnight – just in time for the school holiday tourist traffic through Walcha.
