After a successful nines tournament, which finished last month, a wider train-on squad of players were selected for potential representative honours.
They have attended two training sessions and coach Kate McCulloch said their attitude has been impressive.
“I'm really enjoying the experience of coaching at the next level because those that are there are there for a purpose,” she said.
“They want to learn and improve and are willing to listen. It's obvious they are there to impress me because they are putting in the effort, but at the same time all the girls are enjoying themselves and having fun.
“It's a good vibe.”
Whoever makes the final team, to be decided this weekend, will represent the Group at the Greater Northern Championships on February 9 and from there, could potentially be selected in the region’s squad for the Country Championships.
McCulloch said all members of the current extended squad wouldn’t look out of place in Group 19 colours.
“All the girls have the talent to make the final team however I have a fair idea of who I want to name based simply on their attitude at training, and commitment to the team,” she said.
“In saying that, nothing is set in stone as yet and all squad members still have one more chance to stake their claim this weekend during our final squad session before I name the final team to take on Group 4 and Group 21 in February.
