Walcha Squash Club champion Michael Sweeney increased his tally of A grade titles to 13, and 12 in succession, when he defeated Jock McLaren 3-0 (9-2, 9-1, 9-0) in the final late last year.
To make the final, Sweeney defeated Melissa Eliot in one semi-final while McLaren rounded up club president Bill Wake in the other.

He won the first 9-5, lost the next two 9-7, 9-2, snuck home 10-9 in the fourth to even things up before winning the deciding game 9-5.
D grade champion Jono Byrne didn’t have it all his own way but did triumph 3-1 (9-4, 6-9, 9-3, 10-8) against Taylor Carter after getting the job done in a close finish.
