On Friday night in Uralla the Jillaroos begin the Group 19 season at 6pm against the Tigers followed by the men's clash. On Saturday, the Rams are off to Narrabri for their round one Central North clash.
Rams co-coach Barry Hoy said the season is shaping up pretty well on paper, it's just a matter of "putting it on the paddock."
Centre Pat Keen has moved to Sydney to ply his trade but, aside from him, they haven't suffered too many other losses.
They have also picked up Tom Bucknell from New England premiers Robb College.
Bucknell took out the award for player of the finals series last year and will fill Keen's shoes in the centres.
Last season's skipper Will Fletcher has started training while in a blast from the past, Lachlan Brown will pull on the boots again.
The man they call Board hasn't played for the Rams for since 2012. He has spent the last few seasons on the sidelines after playing league for the Walcha Roos in 2015 and 2016.
The front row stocks have also bolstered by the addition of Henry Leslie and Richard Hunt.
The Rams open their campaign against Narrabri on Saturday, which Hoy acknowledged won't be an easy assignment, "especially out there"
