From 10 am the primary school department classrooms were opened to let the matriarchs of the family join in the fun.

Students also had the chance to read out their recipe for a great mum - essentially a list of the adjectives they thought best described their mother.

Afterwards, everyone descended on the staff room where a delicious collection of sweets and savouries was enjoyed and washed down with tea and coffee with the teachers.
