"Our preschool families were invited to come and spend some time at preschool, share some morning tea and participate in activities," said manager Zoe Herbert. "There was face painting, a photo booth, a biscuit shop, Maori colouring, hand printing and Swedish born Lissie Blomfield came in to make the midsummer 'pole' for the boys and a 'Krans' for the girls by weaving flowers and leaves around wires."
Ms Merbert said sharing families different cultures allows staff to get to know them and the children who attend preschool.
"The children always enjoy having their families spend time with them at preschool," she said.
National Families Week happens each May when over a hundred thousand people get involved in hundreds of community events during the week in Australia's biggest celebration of families in all their diversity.
