Walcha Roos went down to to take on the Bingara Bullets on their home turf at Gwydir Oval on the weekend with mixed results. While the Jillaroos brought home the silverware with a 12-0 victory, the men's game seemed to be a hard slog against a team travelling better on the ladder.

The Jillaroos were quickly off the mark with a try and conversion in the first four minutes of the game, and that was followed-up with a great break from the kick-off which almost saw Walcha cross the line again.
Annabelle Green went down with a knee injury in the ninth minute and took a ride in an ambulance. A big thank-you went out to paramedics for their prompt response.
The Jillaroos led 6-0 when they went into the sheds at half-time.
Bonnie Brown must have been fired up when she came out for the second-half because she crossed the line in the third minute. The try was converted and the score was 12-0, where it remained despite some further opportunities before the full-time whistle.
Walcha had another try disallowed in the 17th minute, which was followed a great play cut short right near the tryline by a wayward pass.
While the the men's match saw Walcha kick away with some early points the going got tough from there on in and they eventually lost 36-12.
Dean Kelly put the ball down in the north-eastern corner of the the ground only six minutes in, but missed the conversion to give Walcha a 4-0 lead.
The Bullets hit back shortly afterwards with two quick tries.
They crossed during the 13th minute, but their boot let them down to take the score along to 4-4. Six minutes later they went over again and converted taking the score to 10-4.
