The event is run by the Innovation Studio who say they run digital learning and makerspace workshops to inspire the community.
The children's 90 minute workshop will be held at the Walcha Library on Monday July 15 at 11am.
Students aged 8 and up can complete each mission objective to fill their Lunar Astronaut Mission Log with stamps showing they have passed their training by building and launching their own rocket (then take it home); landing a rocket on the moon; building and navigating a robotic moon buggy and repairing equipment while wearing a spacesuit.
On Monday and Tuesday next week kids can try out basketball. On Wednesday July 10, they can design and make their own mug then sew a felt buddy before popping into the Ex-Services Club for a trivia evening.
The week after, as well as the lunar workshop there will be a skateboarding workshop on Monday July 15, and finally a cooking workshop in the rugby club On Wednesday July 17.
All events are free but need to be booked through Walcha Council as there are limited spaces available.
