The Uralla organisation has been operating in the New England area for 27 years and its sister company, Tablelands Community Transport, for more than 30 years.
"We started in 1992 with only one staff member and six clients," acting community care manager Rebecca Hanson said.
"Today we have grown to having more than 260 clients and 28 staff. "
Tablelands Community Transport has more than 770 clients, five staff and nine volunteers.
Clients range from elderly people living in the community to younger people with disability.
"We also have an Aboriginal Elders group with elders from Uralla, Armidale, Werris Creek, Quirindi, Tamworth and Walhallow," Rebecca said.
Tablelands Community Support offers home care packages and Commonwealth home support program services to elderly clients, as well as National Disability Insurance Scheme services to clients living with disability. "Our in-home supports includes domestic assistance, personal care, medication prompts, garden maintenance, minor home maintenance, meals, care management and respite care," Rebecca said. "Our services also assist our clients to participate in their community, including shopping, going to appointments, social outings, visiting family and friends and recreational activities. We service the New England area including Uralla, Walcha, Armidale, Bundarra, Guyra, Manilla, and Tamworth."
Tablelands Community Transport has regular shopping services and also has a monthly social group outing to different locations around the area.
"The diversity of our clients means every day is really interesting," Rebecca said.
"Getting to know a client's story, seeing a client striving to achieve their goals and helping them as best we can to live their life as they choose is really rewarding.
"I also like we are helping to reduce the stress and isolation some carers can feel at times when things are not going as planned."
