"During our four days in Lake Macquarie we had a lot of experience in debating with the politicians to express our point of view," said Joscisca.

"We also took some time off from the dry rural land to enjoy some urban areas."

The girls were part of a of an 88 student strong cohort who attended the youth summit.

"We enjoyed an indigenous meditation story, kayaking and tested our courage on the high rope," Joscisca said.

"The Waayapa Wuurrk meditation story is an Aboriginal meditation about the land and how was formed. The best things about the camp was learning more about the drought and meeting people that had the same experience as us so we could joke around with them. We will keep in touch."
