Approximately 152 schools will remain non-operational in fire-affected areas including Nowendoc Primary School and Yarrowitch Primary School.
This situation may change at short notice, and the department will continuously update information at education.nsw.gov.au/public-schools/school-safety.
"We encourage you to regularly monitor our website and social media channels, as well as the news media," said Mark Davies media director at the Department of NSW Education.
"Parents may choose not to send their children to school if they have other supervision arrangements in place.
"Contact your principal if you have any questions regarding your school."
As at 6.30pm the Walcha News understood that all other schools in the Walcha Shire will be open for business as usual tomorrow.
The Oxley Highway remains closed from Walcha to Wauchope. Thunderbolts Way is closed between Nowendoc and Gloucester, the Nowendoc Road in closed from Nowendoc to Mt George and at Woolbrook the Danglemah Road is open from Woolbrook to Moonbi to local traffic only.
