The event sold out weeks before, and those prudent enough to get in early were kitted up with gingerbread slabs, royal icing and lolly bags - ready to be constructed into whatever creation took their fancy.
Many family teams were spotted, and the concentration was obvious on everyone's face at the crucial stage of icing the house slabs.
This was the first of a series of community Christmas events being run by the two churches during December.
On Sunday, December 15 the Anglican Church will host a family-friendly interactive Christmas afternoon One night in Bethlehem from 4 pm in the Anglican Hall and on Sunday, December 22 there will be a night of traditional carol singing in the Presbyterian Church.
