Commonwealth Bank Walcha branch employees have donated $500 to Walcha Council Community Care-Meals on Wheels as part of a nationwide community donation program.

"With the festive season approaching, it's a timely opportunity for us to show our support for the Walcha Council Community Care-Meals on Wheels," said Anne Martin, Commonwealth Bank Walcha branch manager.
"In particular, they support our elderly and disabled people with meals and friendship, so it's great to be able to give back and support this work.
"We are also volunteering to help deliver these Meals on Wheels every month, which we are extremely excited about."
Community Care coordinator Cathy Noon said the money would be used to purchase meal containers.

"We do get minimal government funding, but it is not enough to cover everything," Mrs Noon said.
"For the last decade we have been using a community donated fund set up long before my time, but this is nearly empty, so this money will go into the account."
Commonwealth Bank has again pledged to donate $500,000 nationally to recognise organisations that make a difference in the communities in which we live and work.
Each Commonwealth Bank branch and customer-facing team was allocated $500 to donate to causes important to their local community.
