Disability support not-for-profit, IDEAS, has launched a bushfire crisis relief exchange website for people with disability to access equipment and non-perishable consumables for their needs in times of crisis.

The website, eBility Bushfire Relief, consolidates information for people with a disability, and provides access to essential items and equipment - such as wheelchairs, walkers and scooters - during and after the bushfires.
IDEAS Executive Officer Diana Palmer said the website is a critical resource for someone with a disability because access to the necessary equipment typically becomes much more difficult during an emergency, just when needed most.
"The website is a grassroots initiative to support people with disability to recover from the bushfires, and access essential items and equipment that support their needs. By facilitating the community to list items that are readily available, we can fast track access and protect the mobility and dignity of anyone in need." Ms Palmer said.
"Our matching service means that goods can be as close as possible to the individual's needs without the delay and issues with warehousing, manhandling, and distribution.
"The Ebility website fills a gap, while the NDIA gets their specialist assistance and equipment replacement processes in order. It means that people will be less isolated and maintain more of their independence in the wake of the fire emergency."
The items listed on this site have been donated or lent out for free for the use of people with disability affected by the bushfire crisis throughout Australia.
People with disability can also request wanted items - listing the essential equipment and gear needed to recover from the bushfires.
If people in fire affected regions do not have access to the internet, they can access information and resources shared on the website via IDEAS toll free number on 1800 029 904 Monday - Friday, 8am - 8pm.
