"The town pool provides an outlet for community members, families and kids to support social engagement, physical activity and mental health over the summer," said Walcha Council general manager Anne Modderno.

"We are proud to have offered free admissions to anyone visiting our pool this season, and we are excited to see the fun our new inflatable will bring."

Ms Modderno said the inflatable purchase was made possible from Council contributions and a $10,000 Drought Stimulus - Regional School Holiday Activities grant from the NSW Government.

"Free pool admissions have been made possible this season due to kind donations from Walcha Council, Walcha Central School, Walcha Town and Country Club, Walcha Rotary Club, "1000km Walcha Loving Cyclists" group, the HOGs (Harley Owners Group, support over the Walcha Motorcycle Weekend), and other individual donations.

"The inflatable will be a regular addition to our pool every Saturday and Sunday from 12noon to 4pm, Wednesdays from 3pm to 5:30pm and Fridays from 3pm to 7pm, all weather permitting, " said Walcha Council general manager Anne Modderno.

Walcha Council is throwing a family pool party on Friday, February 14 from 5.30pm followed by a 'dive-in' movie - Toy Story 4 from 7.30pm.

There will be a barbecue run by the Flippers swimming club, a jumping castle, games - and of course the new pool toy.

Walcha Mayor Eric Noakes said there had been a significant increase in people enjoying the Walcha pool this season.

"We are proud to continue to support free entry to locals and visitors keen to use our facility," he said.

"Walcha Council is keep the school holiday operating hours in place even though school has gone back, to allow greater access to our pool for our community and visitors to enjoy. "

Walcha Pool opening hours are weekdays 6am - 8am, everyday from 10am - 6pm, with night swimming on Tuesday and Friday nights until 8pm.

Free admission and free use of the inflatable is available for everyone visiting the pool this season until Sunday, March 29.
