Concerns were raised by the men's squad at the end of 2019 about playing in against first grade teams in Group 19 and the club signalled their interest in re-joining Group 4.
After learning they were unlikely to be granted a transfer, the club opted to meet to discuss their playing future.
Group 19 chairman Terry Carson attended to give the players and supporters and insight into what was involved in playing in the eastern competition.
A decision was made for Walcha to proceed with re-entry into Group 19 for 2020.
Roos captain Steven Eveleigh said despite initial concerns, the men's playing group appreciated Carson fielding their queries.
"It's actually got the lads excited at being in the first grade comp," he said.
"The president taking time out of his day and making the effort has given them confidence in Group 19 and it's future."
The eastern conference of Group 19 will see Walcha grouped with Uralla, Armidale, Narwan, Guyra, Glen Innes and Tenterfield in one grade of men's as well as league tag.
Walcha president Michael Aspinall echoed Eveleigh's thoughts and said the boys were "a lot happier" after hearing how the competition would run.
"It was just good to have Terry there and bring up some points that a few of us didn't know," he said.
"We know roughly when the comp is going to start, the beginning of April now.
"We know what teams we are playing so we look forward to that now."
Aspinall said they are still seeking more players for the men's team for 2020.
The draw is being finalised and will be released in coming weeks.
