"The support from the ADF comes after the need was identified by the community at Yarrowitch earlier this month, and was secured after an application was made by Walcha Council through the NSW Office of Emergency Management," said Walcha Council general manager Anne Modderno.

"Walcha Council is also pleased to confirm that Blacktown City Council has kindly donated the use of a brand new 25 seater mini bus to support transporting BlazeAid volunteers from camp to the fence lines."

Walcha Council Mayor, Eric Noakes said the support Walcha Council had received from other city and far reaching councils, government departments and agencies had been overwhelming.

"We are thankful to have the support of the NSW local government industry for our recovery, especially the support from Blacktown City Council and the Australian Defence Force," he said.

"Council are pleased to continue our facilitating role in the recovery for our community members."

Blacktown City Mayor, Tony Bleasdale said his was the biggest council in NSW and as it was so far untouched by the bushfires they were more than happy to step in and help where they can.

"This includes providing transport for the BlazeAid teams that are doing such a great job in the Walcha district," he said.

"Blacktown City Council is one of the key members of the Local Government Bushfire Recovery Support Group which has been established to match council requests for assistance with offers of people and equipment from councils not impacted by the bushfires.Councils throughout NSW, especially those such as Walcha Council, are doing a fantastic job supporting their communities in these difficult times."

Mr Noakes said the demand that last year's fire emergency has placed on regional communities and their councils was overwhelming.

"I am proud of both our community and of our council for the way we are supporting each other to recover," he said.

Walcha Council has prepared a Frequently Asked Question sheet which includes answers to all questions raised at the BlazeAid Yarrowitch meeting, as well as additional information that has come to light since.

NSW Public Works Advisory will be approving a list of local subcontractors to help with the clean up and recovery work.

Walcha Council general manager Anne Modderno said the NSW Government had selected Laing O'Rourke as the principal contractor to coordinate the clean up across NSW.

"It is the Government's intention to priorities the use of local contractors as this will also assist our local businesses to recover," Ms Modderno said.

"Public Works Advisory and Laing O'Rourke will coordinate the selection of contractors and commence the clean-up.

"Once the contact details for Laing O'Rourke's representative for our area is confirmed, local businesses are encouraged to make contact to register their capability to assist.

"The ADF may also need support form local earthmoving contractors to help with the clean up effort along fence lines. Local contractors with resources and capability are encouraged to contact Council to confirm contact details and available resources."
