Mother of three and Walcha Councillor Rachel Wellings was the instigator behind the project, and she says she is very excited by the opening.
“This project was one of the reasons I wanted to become a councillor in the first place,” she said.
“Having Walcha Council invest in youth infrastructure and services to make this town the best place for your family (and mine) to live. I’m chuffed with the results that the wonderful Council staff have done to have this great space ready for the school holidays.”
The new equipment includes a noughts and crosses panel; a new shopfront panel; talking tubes; rocker; G-Pod spinner; rotonet climber and a new swing that features a bird’s nest, expression swing and a standard swing.
Mrs Wellings said Council appreciates the patience of the community and acknowledges the generosity of the Town and Country Committee.
