The dynamic education duo was recently recognised for this commitment at the St Patrick’s Primary School presentation night when they were each presented with a Distinguished Service Award by Gary Burdett from the Catholic Schools Office.
Mrs Reilly has taught in Catholic schools for 32 years and at St Patrick’s Primary for the last seven of those.
“Jayne has a very gentle, caring nature which is evident in her daily interactions with the children and families at St Patrick’s,” Mr Burdett said.
Mrs Watts has worked at St Pat’s in Walcha for 20 years in administration doing everything from reception to first aid.
“Pam has touched the heart of many and goes beyond her administrative duties to help those who need it,” Mr Burdett said. “She also ensures the teachers have everything they need.”
Mrs Watts and Mrs Reilly said they were truly humbled to be in the company of people who had inspired them.
“People who have helped shape our thinking about how children learn best, who have helped us to realise the potential of our teaching profession to truly make a difference in the lives of these children and we are so very grateful to our parents for sending your children to St Patrick’s School and entrusting in us with the privilege of teaching your precious children,” said Mrs Reilly.
