Annalisa Ferraris and Lucy O’Doherty opened their joint exhibition ‘Outside In’ on Saturday night and the Walcha Gallery of Art was packed.
For Lucy it is a return to her previous themes however this time around she has used a lighter palette and her work is on a larger scale.
The paintings are of interiors that are slightly odd with a mysterious feel.
“I’m inspired by old black and white thrillers that use dramatic lighting and shadows to create mood.
“I like depicting old fashioned things or furniture because I think they have a sense of loneliness to them,” she told the Walcha News during her last exhibition and this would seem to hold true for the current one as well.
Annalisa has departed from her previous medium of photography to deliver a selection of abstract landscapes in subtle tones.
“I have recently moved into painting following my successful showing in our first exhibition in Walcha,” she said.
The exhibition runs at the gallery until October 1.
