Guitars and Cigars is a collection of songs close to Cosgrove’s heart and the 2016 CMAA Academy of Country Music graduate is gearing up for a big festival ahead.
“I recorded it in August with Matt Fell in Sydney, it’s got five original songs with a bit of variety,” she said.
“I chose the five songs I’m proudest of at the moment and that show who I am as a singer songwriter.
“As a debut EP I’ve never done a recording before and these are five songs I wanted to get on there and get out there.”
Cosgrove admits she was a little nervous about her first recording experience but was happy with the process and the success of her first single The Unfamiliar was met with rave reviews.
She said she’s looking forward to heading back to Tamworth, performing and catching up with some long time friends.
Cosgrove will feature at the Coca Cola Country Walk Ups stage at the Tamworth Town Hall on Monday, January 23 from 1.10pm. She will also perform at the CMAA Academy 2016 reunion concert at the South Tamworth Bowling Club on January 23 from 6pm before a spot with some country colleagues at the Stockmans Motel on Wednesday, January 24 from 6.30pm.
