The young Western Australian singer took out three trophies at the talent quest 12 months ago, winner best female vocalist, the songwriting award as well as the overall award.
“I was lucky enough, because of winning, to go over to the Norfolk Island Country Music Festival,” Jasmine said.
As the 2016 winner, she was an automatic entry into the Trans-Tasman Entertainer of the Year at Norfolk Island.
“It was an amazing 10 days, just being able to catch up with so many artists,” Jasmine said. “Walking down the street, Luke O’Shea yelled out ‘Hey Jas’, which was pretty cool.”
Jasmine won Most Promising Artist at the Nofolk Island awards.
At the CCMA Talent Quest and Jamboree Jasmine will perform as a special guest, along with Kaylens Rain and Marie Hodson.
Held at the Northwest Church auditorium in South Tamworth, the talent quest is held over two days on Thursday and Friday, before the winners concert at 7pm on Friday, featuring all the talent quest winners.
The talent quest has a long history. Now in its 51st year, many artists have entered, including Lee Kernaghan, who won best male vocalist as a 13-year-old at his first Tamworth Country Music Festival.
“It’s the same talent quest where Tommy Emmanuel was first seen, and Keith Urban and a whole host of others have been through the ranks,” Lee Kernaghan said this week
